Ahhhh, the search for a bigger car started many months ago. We were hoping to have another child, whether we adopted or got pregnant, and our Subaru only fits 3 kids in the back. If that wasn't reason enough we had 2 carseats in the Subaru with Graham sitting on the hump and his knees were getting higher and higher as he got older and older. Plus, I had to help everyone with their seat belts since they all overlapped. Not to mention the carpooling problem.
So the search began. We looked at cross overs and SUV's and finally widdled it down to the Pilot or the Sequoia (the picture above is from when we were trying to compare the two at a car lot). We were leaning toward the Pilot because of the better gas mileage and getting a newer year than if we got a Sequoia. What finally helped us make up our mind was the trip to Bear Lake. It was a short trip and we didn't need that much stuff and I was excited to finally not be squished like when we went to Yellowstone. Boy was I wrong. We were still smashed in there with bags under the kids feet and packed in back so you couldn't see out the back window. That was the last straw for me. Not only did I want more seats but I wanted more room! So we narrowed our search down to just Sequoias. It wasn't a month later when we stumbled upon the winner.
We decided to sell the Mazda. I was sad to see it go but the Subaru made way more sense to keep. We sold it on KSL in one day. We took our first trip in the new car to Moab over Fall Break. It was AWESOME! The big boys sat in back with headphones and the DVD player on while Beck watched from his seat in the middle. Jason and I had a couple hours of peace and quiet where we actually finished conversations. All of our stuff fit in the car and there was room to spare. Ahhhhh.
