Oh these pictures are deceiving! Sure he's not screaming or crying in them but trust me 5 min. earlier he was. Beck's hair was getting so long that it was in his eyes and he would NOT let us cut it. So I decided to try Cookie Cutters. At first things were going really well as he played while waiting for his turn. When it was his turn he could choose a cool chair like the motorcycle he's sitting on in the picture. But of course he wouldn't have any of that! So we settled for him sitting on my lap. He was getting nervous and kept saying, "No cut". So I comforted him by saying, "No cut, just a trim". This worked until she came at him with a spray bottle and comb. That's when things started going down hill. He started squirming and wiggling. Never mind that a favorite cartoon was playing for him to enjoy. It didn't take long for his squirming and wiggling to turn into screaming and crying. I had him pinned down and was telling the girl to just go as fast as she could. In the meantime Beck is making a HUGE scene and he was so wiggly that my skirt was not staying where it should. We both had capes on and not only was mine getting twisted so that hair was getting all over me but I was SWEATING like crazy. Once it was finally over Beck jumped off my lap, no more crying, and went to sit on the motorcycle. I on the other hand needed a lint brush to get the hair off of me and then begrudgingly had to pay way too much for a bad hair cut that I totally could have given him myself!!!
Since then I have tried unsuccessfully to "fix" his haircut. The best I could do was when he fell asleep in the car on the way home one night. I snuck him up to his room and we laid him on a towel on his floor and then I attempted to cut his hair with him asleep. It helped a little but we'll need another midnight haircut to get it right.

Oh how I hate those moments.
I had to hold Alex down for her flu shot this year. She actually kicked the school nurse!
You do end up wondering if it was worth it.
