Moving Day

We got started bright and early by picking up the U-Haul truck.  The first load went pretty fast.  Pam and Richard were there to help.

Pam might have spilled the lego bucket on the stairs.  Lucy helped herself to a frozen corndog.
We did a big load in the morning and then stayed at the new house while the delivery guys hooked our new fridge up.  In the evening we had a bunch of neighborhood kids come to help.  They were actually super helpful!  Lucy got some final playing time on the Wall's trampoline while the big boys (thanks Bishop Babcock and home teacher Bro. Downey along with Gpa Richard) took the washer and dryer out.  Steff made yummy dinner for all of us.  Amazing chicken and homemade mac and cheese.  The guys helped us unload at the new house and then we decided to call it a night.

Here are the boys sleeping in Beck and Jonah's new room.

The next day we headed back to the house to finish cleaning.  Pam and Richard were there once again and Mandi and Sandra helped clean too.  I didn't want anyone to help clean.  Cleaning is gross and I didn't want people having to clean my dirt.  I am so thankful though that a few friends stopped by to help.  Another load of leftover stuff and we were done.  A special shout out to Steff and Marci for hooking us up with all our boxes!  Pam and Richard for enduring 3 days of moving, watching kids, feeding us and putting our bunkbeds together.  Dad for 6 months of house hunting, selling our house, lots of good advice, moral support and some serious hand holding!  Thanks Mom for watching the little ones and for numerous meals you brought over to us and helping me put my kitchen back together.

Graham was trying to gather items for a school clothes drive in hopes of winning an iPad.  So my last time at the house I was rushing to grab the rest of the clothes bags out of the garage.  I think if I would have realized that I wasn't going back it would have been hard and I would have been teary eyed.  But I was rushed and in a hurry to get the bags to Graham so I wasn't thinking about that, and Graham didn't even win the iPad :(.

A few weeks before we moved I was feeling so sentimental.  We have LOVED living in that house.  It has so many memories for us.  Graham was about 2 1/2 when we moved in 10 years ago.  We started with 1 child and ended with 4.  Graham went to all of his elementary school there.  We have adored our ward and neighbors and the cul-de-sac.  To make myself feel better I made a slide show of our 10 years and the changes to us and the house.  We watched it for FHE the week we moved.  It helped me have some closure.
