Family Reunion/Round Up Week

Chelsea and Britt's families came to visit for 2 weeks!  We all decided to try out the cattle drive parade.
The kids were all ready for it to start...and then it was over.  I think the cattle part lasted less then 3 min.  Short but sweet.

We had a picnic at the park one evening.

We had a 3 legged race and Jonah and Caitlyn didn't do so well so I had to console Jonah.  Then I decided to be his partner.  It didn't go much better.  In fact it ended with me getting part of my toenail ripped and then Jonah yelling at me that it was my fault we lost.
The potato sack race had a little less drama.

Aaron just chilled out while we watched the family soccer game.

The next morning was the parade!  We always start the parade off with some donuts.
Then the kids needed to get their candy bags ready.

 Ah, good old AF High!

Chappel Valley 2nd Ward's Dr. Seuss float.

As if the parade wasn't exciting enough, we got to go to Ophir for the rest of the afternoon and play with Chris Skinner and her family.
Chris had given all the kids water crayon things and guns so they had a big old water fight that even Pam got in on.

Though the rest of us hid out here...

The Skinner's house is right across from the opening of a mine up on a hill.
We all trekked up there and this is the opening of the mine.
Jason decided to get real close to the opening with Beck and Jo and told them to listen really quiet and then said, "OOOOOOOOO".  It scared Beck pretty good and he wouldn't get close after that but here's a pic of him saying, "OOOOOOOO".  As you got close to the opening of the mine you could feel a freezing cold breeze.

The kids found a bunch of pyrite (fools gold) that Graham and Jonah are showing.
Quincee is hilarious!  She thought it was the real thing (so did the other kids) and decided to fill her shirt with as much as she could hold.
The view of the Skinner's house from the mine.  AWESOME!

We had the yummiest lunch (I think I worked up an appetite during the mine touring).  Then the kids rode the 4-wheeler and played games.  We ended the day with an Otter Pop, perfect.
