This year for our Girl's weekend (Jason's side of the family) we all headed to Omaha to stay with Shalece. Pam and I flew in together and rented a sweet Subaru for the weekend which met Russell's approval even though it wasn't a Ford.
We did some shopping. I got to go to my first Trader Joe's and bought the boxed brownie mix that Consumer Reports rated highest. Pam found this mannequin at the mall that had it's hand in an awkward place...

We did a recipe swap. Already tried 2 of the new meals and they were winners! We had ourselves a BBQ with Shalece on the grill.

When I went to AZ for Brooklyn's baptism we were at Walmart and found these sweet Diamond Back Pj's for $1! So we grabbed a pair for everyone (thanks Pam) so that we could have twiner Pj's. Funny thing is we didn't even notice they said "Super Dad" on them until Tiff's Brian pointed it out. We also made bottle cap necklaces with our intials (thanks Mandi).

We spent Saturday morning at the Winter Quarter's temple. I was especially excited to go there because I had been to Winter Quarters right after I graduated from high school with a group called Heritage Tours but there was no temple then. When we lived in Idaho we got to go to the Winter Quarters temple dedication via satellite. So to get to be there again and go in and do a session with some names my mom prepared was so neat for me. It's a smaller temple and we had to have an appointment to go.

While we were there we walked around the cemetery and visitor's center.

Saturday night we got in our comfy clothes and had dessert downstairs (chocolate chip cheesecake. Oh, and I went to the Cheesecake Factory for my first time...YUM!).

Pam had brought us all a copy of the new Relief Society history book and told us a little about how it came to be. On Sunday we all went to Sacrament meeting together and then I had to head back home.
Jason survived without me. Sure they went to the wrong field for Graham's practice and Beckham got a cold so he had to keep him home from church but overall he was a superstar Dad! He sent me this text while I was gone...
"Jonah and Beck just played "Cookie House". Jo said it's when you eat all of the cookies in the house. He ate 7 and is lying on the couch moaning that his belly hurts and he can't get up. What kind of games do you teach our kids while I'm away??!!!!!"
This was how Beck felt about me being gone...

The boys were sweet and had made me lots of welcome home signs. It was so fun to get away but of course I was super happy to be back home!

A girl's trip sounds so nice right about now. It looks like you guys had lots of fun. The text from Jason is pretty amazing.
This looks like SO much fun! We went to Omaha in March and had lots of fun but never found Winter Quarters.
