Love and Logic
I hate having to teach our kids lessons and Graham is famous for testing his boundaries. On Monday he was dawdling to get ready for school. We had told him that if he wasn't ready when the carpool came that he would have to walk (and it had just snowed). Despite all our efforts he played with Jonah and looked at himself for a really long time in the mirror and did whatever else he could think of that was unproductive when you are trying to get ready for school. The carpool showed up and poor Graham was dressed but didn't have his coat or back pack and couldn't even find his coat. So we waved the carpool on and explained to Graham that he would have to walk now. He of course flipped out. He was partly nervous about crossing the crosswalk alone. Jason let Graham buy his service of walking him to school with jobs that he promised to do after school. So off they went.
As much as we bundled Graham he was still cold and I think that helped make it a memorable lesson because he was ready early today. On the other hand, he missed dinner AGAIN because he didn't come home on time last night. I wonder how many times that will happen before he figures that one out?

Oh the joys of being a parent!
(My kids loved the video from Santa! I did one for all 3.)
What good follow through! I LOVE Love and Logic :)
I can't even count how many times I had to walk, ride my bike, or scooter to school because I was late and my mom wouldn't drive me. I hope he doesn't catch on that when you have to walk to school you can be really really late and miss the first part of school. haha. =0) (I guess not every child wanted to miss as much school as possible like me.)
