The neglectful tooth fairy

Being all the make-believe things in your child's life is A LOT of work. I mean we're the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and Lep the Leprechaun! So when we flub up on the tooth fairy who can blame us.

Little Graham twisted, pulled, and then yanked out another tooth. It happened right before bed and by the time he was asleep it was late and we were tired. So instead of leaving him a new tooth fairy note we just recycled an old one (going green) and left him his $. The first thing he said to me in the morning was about how the tooth fairy gave him his same old note!

Then a week later Graham twisted, pulled and yanked out ANOTHER tooth! This time it happened during the middle of the day and that night he didn't even mention putting the tooth under his pillow so of course we forget until the next morning when Graham came downstairs heartbroken that the tooth fairy had forgotten him. I hurried and whispered to Jason to run upstairs and fix it somehow. So Jason ran and hid something inside his bed and we told Graham maybe it got mixed up in the covers and to go look again. Well the poor kid looked and looked and didn't end up finding the $ until that night.

Apparently we need to work on our fairy skills.

Love it! But now I'm nervous to have all that responsibility - and where did the Leprechaun come from?

Aidan hasn't lost any teeth yet so I have no experience in the area of the tooth fairy but I am getting pretty good at making stuff up as I go along with all of the others. Way to try and cover it up though. He is just too smart sometimes, recognizing the note!

I love that he recognized the note. Maybe you need to leave him less money so he isn't so anxious about pulling them out. Then again, maybe it would be better just to get them all done and out of the way so you can focus on Christmas since you only have a few months before you have to play Santa.

That kid is too smart! There is a lot of pressure as an adult. I think I finally realize why my parents always rolled their eyes at me every time I said I couldn't wait to be a grown up.

LOL, I am so glad to hear it actually. Colton went to the dentist to have 2 baby teeth pulled (1 was an extra tooth & they were to close together to come out on their own)

Anyways needless to say he was so upset, it really hurt and the dentist told him that the tooth fairy would probably give him even more money. Well.....It was a busy day & she completely FORGOT!! He was so heartbroken that morning :(

So many things to look forward to. My parents did that to me too (forgot and then told me to go check again.) I got a little suspicious, but the money was exciting enough to keep me from worrying.

Don't worry, you are not alone! Doug and I have been TERRIBLE tooth fairies! We have often told them that, oh the tooth fairy was sick last night or didn't have enough time to get to everyone, and then we would forget again on the second night!!! They don't seem to have any hang ups about it (yet) now that they have figured a few things out.
