Our Last Day

I had hoped that our last morning we could do this cool hike that is a bunch of railroad ties going straight up a mountain with a fabulous view at the end. It wasn't meant to be. I was still sick and didn't have enough energy to go hiking. So instead we decided to go whale watching! A bus picked us up at our hotel and took us out to the docks. Once on board the ship we hung out inside and they had a little presentation for us.

Jason was less than thrilled about being stuck inside.
As soon as they finished their program we headed outside to find us some whales. They told us to look for the water spraying up because that meant a whale had just come up for air. So we started searching for sprays of water. We saw a spray or two but that was all the whale never actually came out of the water.

We did see a barge and a cruise ship and a bird.

We even saw someone parasailing and Diamond Head.

This is me looking for a whale's spray.

Ooooh, I think we got one.

And there it is. The tiny part of a whale's tail. We took the picture right before the tail flipped all the way up. That's why you can't really tell its a tail.
And now I'm thinking, "Seriously, that's it". Yep, that was it.

Oh well, I guess we can just enjoy the nice WINDY boat ride.

We had been waiting all week to go to Eggs 'N' Things. Like last time we were the only non Asian people there. Check out my coconut pancakes though in the picture. So YUMMY! I had taken a dramamine for the boat ride and about now the drowsiness was kicking in. I could barely keep my eyes open while we waited for our omelet and pancakes.

We spent some time buying last minute souvenirs and then headed back to read and nap by the pool. There was a beach side restraunt right by the pool and we decided to eat dinner there.
The atmosphere was so fun and they had live music.
We watched the sun set over the beach as we listened to music and ate coconut shrimp. It was the perfect ending to a super fun vacation! After dinner we headed to the airport for our flight home. We luckily slept pretty good on the flight home and arrived in SLC at 7:00am. The boys were super happy to see us. Graham threw himself in my arms as soon as he opened the door. We had such a great time but were happy to come home even to snow. A big Thank You to Sandra, Mom, and Pam and Richard for taking such good care of the little lambs. Especially since they were sick.
