Day 2 in the Sun

Since I fell asleep so early the night before I was wide awake at 4:45! So I figured I may as well tag along on Jason's morning run. Most everyone knows I only run when I'm being chased so Jason had to take it easy on me. I admit that I was running out of steam before we even turned around to head back.
Jason had to work until 2ish so after we ate a ridiculously over priced continental breakfast he went off to work and I headed to Waikiki. It was a short 5 min. walk from the hotel.
I laughed at myself when I felt too tired in the warm sun to even read and instead just fell asleep. It rained a little for a minute but for the most part it was sunny and breezy. Just how I like it.
This hotel in the background is where we stayed after Jason finished his work portion of the trip. While I was basking in the sun I called my mom to check on the boys. She said Jonah hadn't been feeling well and had fallen asleep in the car. That NEVER happens. Then as we were chatting Jonah woke up...and threw up. Poor mom. I felt so bad. I hung up with her and continued to relax in the sun (there was nothing else for me to do) while she cleaned up Jonah. Jonah didn't throw up again while we were gone but he was sick with a fever the whole time and missed both days of preschool.
When it was getting close to time for Jason to be done working I headed back to the hotel. I couldn't hang out in our room because the maid hadn't come yet and she was only one door away. So instead I went out by the roof top pool and read some more. When Jason came and got me we were both starving but we were going out to dinner that night with his work friends and it was already late afternoon. So instead of eating a big lunch we went to Leonard's Bakery. We had heard about these malasadas that they make there. They are some kind of donut. Well, we thought they were more like donut holes and ordered a dozen.
Really they were donut size and piping hot out of the oven. They had sugar on the outside and they were a cross between a donut and a scone. Some had custard inside of them. They were FABULOUS!
Jason's boss had asked at the hotel where to eat that wasn't touristy. They recommended the Willows. It was outside, beautiful, and a buffet with prime rib and all sorts of seafood.

It was fun to finally meet all Jason's team/group from work. They all happen to be ladies. Nice to know he's not just making up these people ;). After dinner we had to return the rental car to the airport and trade it for the non-work rental car. I was feeling kind of funny on the way there and I barely kept my eyes open on the drive back. When we got back to the hotel I crashed as soon as my head hit the pillow.
