The Tree

After last years fiasco of cutting down a Christmas tree with the whole family I was ready to give up on the tradition and just buy one. Jason had other ideas, so it became a father son event and Graham and Jason did all the work. They woke up at 4:30am to drive to Soldier Hollow and wait in line for a permit and then they bundled up a few weeks later to go and cut a tree down. Jonah isn't a fan of walking long distances so he chose to stay home but he did get the honor of cutting off the part of the tree that wouldn't fit in the house.

We have some gingerbread ornaments that Graham and I made days before Jonah was born. As they were getting the bag of ornaments out they fell and then Beck sat on them. Needless to say we were down a few gingerbread men for our tree this year. We had to leave the 5+ year old popcorn string off the tree (Beck can't be trusted yet). The boys did the decorating and we had to leave the bottom 1/4 of the tree bare (refer to the reason we can't use the popcorn string). My new favorite decoration is our starfish Santa from Hawaii.
