Last year Graham really got into setting a trap for Lep (our leprechaun) but then got all crazy about trying to catch him and it ended up being such an ordeal that we had to change things this year. I found a story about how if you make a treasure box and leave it out the leprechaun will find it and fill it with treasures. Then he'll hide it and if you find it before St. Patrick's Day is over then you get to keep it. If you don't find it then the leprechaun gets to keep it. So these are the boxes with the "treasure" that was left in them.
We also made some shamrock cookies. Graham helped with the mixing and Jonah did some cookie cutting.

We had preschool at our house that day so we made some rainbow cupcakes and shamrock hats. Then there is a picture of the mess we made that I got to clean up.

I made other festive attempts during the day like key lime pie with a shamrock on top and coins hidden inside jello. Um, they may not have turned out as fabulous as I had hoped. Either way it was a VERY green day!

All of those ideas are so fun. I love your island! I guess I still haven't seen it in person. Your cookies look very impressive. My sugar cookies don't ever seem to work out so I'll have to get your recipe one of these days when I feel up to making them.
Okay, I'm the slacker mom. My kids were lucky that I remembered to dress them in green. Sounds like a fun day!
Very festive. I thought of you on St. Patrick's and wondered what you were all up to since I remembered you telling me about last year. I like your island too. I thought it looked different from when I was there last.
I like the idea of not doing traps. Where did you find that story?
You are such a great mom! I want to be as cool as you one day.
Can I be you when I grow up??? You are the cutest mom of the year!
