Disney Day 2

Day 2 of our vacation started with using our early morning entry. After walking through the gates I realized that I didn't grab a schedule and a map. So I ran back to grab one and then headed back to the boys only to find that they were not where I left them. Great. We had only been at Disneyland for 2 minutes and I was already lost. I tried Jason's phone but he didn't answer and I couldn't see them anywhere! I was starting to panic when I decided to try Jason's phone one more time. He answered and they weren't far from me. I wish this was the only time I got lost but later in the day we were watching Mary Poppins do a little show in front of the castle. I was taking a picture when I finished I looked around and the boys were gone again! I thought we would have to worry about Jonah getting lost but apparently it was ME we had to worry about.

Our first ride was the Nemo Submarine. As Jason parked the stroller (Jonah isn't a huge fan of walking long distances) I got in line with the boys. Of course the first thing Graham does is sit on the railing. Well, to his dismay he had chosen to wear his slick track pants and as soon as he sat on the railing he slipped right off and fell backwards into the flower bed. I should have ran to his aid but I had just turned on the video camera and couldn't believe my luck that I caught it on tape!
We talked Jonah into going on the Matterhorn. Maybe it wasn't our best parenting moment because he was crying as the ride started and we still made him go. He endured well but he was not about to go on the ride with "bomb the snowman" ever again!
Sadly Jonah was too short for Indiana Jones but he played in Tarzan's treehouse while we waited for Graham and Jason and he loved that. We just took Graham last time we came and Graham commented on how it was more fun with Jonah there and I agreed.

We took this first picture 2 years ago when we went and then decided to take one this year in the same place. It's just outside of Pirate's of the Caribbean.
We didn't go on Splash Mountain 2 years ago because it wasn't warm enough to get dried
off if we got wet. This time it was a little warmer and I didn't want to miss it!
Jonah wasn't a big fan of getting wet and Graham was so nervous about getting wet that
he said he said a prayer before we went down the big hill. Maybe that's why we didn't get
too wet. Or it could be because of that big guy in front of us who took the brunt of the water.
I love the picture of everyone on the ride because Jonah was sitting between Jason and me but
he's so small you can't even see him. I didn't want to get too wet so I put my green hoodie on
and cinched it up.

Graham isn't a fan of meeting the characters so it was all about Jonah when we'd see one...oh and me too.
We ate lunch at the Pirate's Lair. Definitely one of the boys favorite spots.

By the time we got to It's A Small World the weather was perfectly warm!
Next was Toon Town. By this time of day we were getting pretty tired. So we just let the boys run around and play and we just watched.

Before we went to dinner we stopped at Space Mountain. I LOVE Space Mountain. A roller coaster in the dark was a FANTASTIC idea! Jonah asked to ride with Graham. I wasn't sure how that was gunna play out.
The boys endured well but didn't want to go on it again. In this picture they are behind the lady and man. Again, they are so short you can just see Jonah's eyes and part of Graham's forehead.
We left the park and walked back to our super close hotel for a little break. Graham and I took the car and went and found us some pizza. If we didn't have the GPS with us I would have been lost for the 3rd time that day.
Then it was parade time. Our favorite spot it by It's a small world because right before the parade they light up the outside of the ride and it's AWESOME!
Oh, and we can always get a front row seat there without having to be there an hour early.
Jason wore his new spiffy shoes.
Between the parade and the fireworks we decided to ride Autotopia. The line takes FOREVER but it was worth it. Not that the ride is so entertaining but we just had so much fun on it. The car is on a track so you can only go so far either way before you bump into the track and have to straighten out. I was riding with Graham and I couldn't stop laughing because he was trying to drive good but kept bumping into the tracking and jostling us. Jason was with Jonah and Jonah was steering. Jason said that Jonah thought he was really driving so he was kneeling up on the seat so he could see over the steering wheel. Then he bumped into the track and it tossed him onto the seat. Jason said Jonah scrambled back to the steering wheel as fast as he could thinking that he was really driving the car and that they would crash if he didn't steer.
They almost cancelled the fireworks because it had become windy. I'm so glad they didn't! They really are magical. The Christmas music with the fireworks and the lights on the castle were amazing. Then at the very end it begins to snow (bubbles). LOVED IT!

They have a big Christmas tree near the entrance. Jason took this cool picture of it.
We tried to get a family picture in front of it but it just wasn't meant to be. So we improvised and took our own picture in the reflection of one of the big Christmas ball ornaments. (Yes, Graham has his finger up his nose, like father like son).
Oh, it was a looooong fun day and the little lambs were exhausted!

Now on to day 3!
