Cutting down our Christmas tree was a little more work this year.
It started off with bundling up 3 boys.
(Jonah hugging Beck in his backpack)
The road we usually drive on was snow packed. It was no problem for the Subaru but I was still white knuckled until we got to our destination.
We all started to hike back to find a tree but it didn't take long to realize that it was too hard for Jonah to keep up and Beck wasn't loving the backpack. I ended up taking the two little boys back to the car to wait while Jason and Graham did the tree hunting. An hourish later I finally caught sight of Jason and Graham but they didn't have a tree with them. Graham was in tears. They weren't able to find one that was the right kind and the right size. We weren't about to give up. We drove to a different spot and Jason and Graham got out and climbed down this ravine and were gone again. This time they were back before too long and they had a huge Christmas tree in tow.
It was so big that we couldn't see out the front window.
Our tree was up for 2 weeks before we decorated it. The funny thing is that to fit it in our front room we had to cut it almost in half. So we got the Charlie Brown Christmas tree part to decorate. As the boys decorated the tree I kept wanting to step in and fix it so that everything was evenly hung and just right. Finally I gave in and let the boys do it their way. We may not have the perfect Christmas tree but it sure comes with a lot of memories this year.
