The boys all ready to get in the car.
It was cold.
Some of us stayed in the car while some waited in line. We got a good spot in line but there were lots of other people and the line kept growing and growing.
Graham entertained himself by laying on the floor and playing the ipod.

And of course the real reason I am willing to get up so early...the raspberry filled powdered doughnuts!
Right before 8am when they open the doors Beckham woke up. We bundled him up and he waited in line with us for the last few minutes. Once we had our permit in hand it was back to the car.
Sometimes we stop for breakfast on the way home but we needed to get Graham to school so we hurried back. As we passed Deer Creek there was steam rising off of it. Super pretty.

I love traditions. This sounds so exciting and like such an incredible family tradition. Too bad I've always been a fake tree person so I guess we can't copy this great idea.
You guys are crazy! Ah, the things we will do for tradition!
You're nuts! I love our tradition of a mid-afternoon trek out to the garage to get our artificial tree. Sometimes Eric doesn't even put on his coat.
You are such a die hard! Wow! 4 am and you still made Graham go to school!? hahaha! I'm actually jealous. I love a real Christmas tree like nothing else!
