Love #1 Being frugal/getting a raging deal on something
Love #2 Being efficient
I decided to go with love #2 and start my Christmas shopping a little early this year. It was going great and love #2 was being fulfilled.
Then the ads started coming out.
I had bought 2 sets of legos and now those legos are buy one get one 50% off. I bought a scooter and now the nicer version of the scooter is on sale for $8 less then I bought mine.
This is where love #1 kicks in. I can't help myself. I drive to the store where the stuff is on sale and buy the same legos this time with the discount. I look for the scooter but its already out of stock and I forget to try and get a raincheck while I'm there.
This is where my loves clash. Now I own double lego sets and have to return the other legos. Then go back to the store to check on a raincheck and if I do get one then I have to go back again when the scooter comes in and then return the scooter I already bought.
My efficiency has been obliterated.
Humph.

I think many of us face similar dilemas. I wish I had a solution. I'm sure you'll be glad when you get the better deal. Sorry about all the driving though. Where are Legos on sale? My friend is looking for a few sets.
Oooh I totally hear you. Returning stuff is such a pain but it is worth having the extra cash (at least that's what I try to convince myself after all the time wasted buying duplicate items and returning them).
One of my very favorite posts. Ever. :)
Good luck!
Thanks so much for the info about Target. I'll pass it along. This post has had me thinking about myself and the things I choose to spend time trying to save money on. I feel good about being efficient and totally talk myself into it, until I see that there is a better deal out there and then I beat myself up over it. Honestly, I spend so much time getting diapers and this week I chose not to search all over for coupons and go down to Orem to buy them, but I keep wondering if I will regret it. Money, money, money :)
LOL!!! I have done the same exact thing this year. We had only a few more things to get after Thanksgiving, and I saw ads too. Very funny!
