It was cold. I mean really cold. The boys had to dig out the snow to find the fire pit so we could warm up.
We all had enough layers that we didn't freeze to death. We had some hot chocolate and did some sledding. I found myself making several trips to the bathrooms, they were heated.
Once it got dark we roasted hot dogs and had hot chocolate. We put a mini mint 3 musketeers in our hot chocolate and it tasted soooo good.
It was so cold that Graham's Gatorade froze! Jonah was in heaven crawling around in the snow.
Graham dropped Jason's glove in the fire...oops. An ember popped out of the fire and burned a whole in Jason's jacket...hmph.
I had visions of us sitting in the yurt and playing games and putting together puzzles and eating snacks till midnight. Not so much. My fingers were too frozen to play games and the snacks were frozen too. Instead Jason put warm water bottles in our sleeping bags and we all settled in for the night.
Despite the cold temperature we had a really good time. Graham even said it was the best day of his life (then his hands got cold and it was the worst day of his life). When we were all done playing we hauled our gear back to the car and then rode the sleds down one last time.

I don't think my marriage would be able to take a night like that! You guys are crazy!
What a fun adventure. Sorry about Jason's glove and jacket though.
You guys are definetly Alaska material! It seems like you really like to do fun stuff...in the cold, and so you qualify to live in AK!! Those kinds of times the boys will remember forever.
Oh wait until I tell Sean, he's going to be soooo jealous!
Wow, I must say you are a good wife. I don't think I would be up to that. You are such a good mom to make such fun memories for your kids!
early morning hotdogs? ewww.
still sounds like fun- if the heater had worked a little better.
