With #3 on the way we needed to make some room for him. We decided to put Jonah and Graham together in Jonah's room (its the biggest) and give baby Graham's old room. I swore I would make Graham have that room forever since he did so many memorable/damaging things to it but common sense won out and he moved into Jonah's room.

After shopping around for bunk beds we realized they could be pricey. So we opted to use Pam and Richard's that were in storage (from when Jason was growing up). We sanded them down and gave them some new paint (way bigger process than we anticipated) and there they are! I was hoping to come across some cheap bedding so we went searching at IKEA and found the green leaf ones. They were duvet covers so we used Graham's bed spread in his and bought a cheap one at Walmart for Jonah's (thanks Melissa that was a great idea). Then we went all crazy (you know how frugal I can be) and bought the green rug. We had just hung the shades before we found out about #3 and they were a raging deal (thanks Amy R.) so whether they match or not they're staying :) And we got lucky that the paint for the walls and dresser just happened to match the bedding. We didn't even plan it.

The dresser came next. These guys are a set that my Grandpa Fish used to have in his bedroom. We sanded and painted the tall thin one when we were preparing for Jonah's arrival. Since we were leaving Graham's dresser in his room for the baby we sanded and painted the big dresser to match the other one and Wah Lah! The open space in the middle is because it used to be a desk but the folding down door part broke so we just took it off filled in the holes it left and now it'll be a book shelf.

To keep the mess to a minimum since there isn't much room left in the room each boy got a long rubbermaid that slides under the bed. Whatever they can fit in there can stay in the room but nothing else can go under the bed (Graham is a huge pack rat)!

We were a little concerned how they would do sharing a room. They do have a 5 year age gap between them. It has been such a pleasant surprise. They LOVE sharing a room and they are playing together more often and nicer and they are doing really good at keeping it clean! Since we finished the boys room we all got sick. Blech. I'm still mid sinus infection. So baby boy's room is still in the works. He's due the 20th but she's already dilated to a 3 so we better get to it!

It turned out really good! Hope you get feeling better so you can get the baby's room ready.
Looks great!!! Way to go.
I'm impressed. Decorating projects always end up being more work than I aniticipate, but it is so nice when they are finished. The bunk beds look great. I'm glad the boys are enjoying sharing a room.
I couldn't find the sling right away (I packed it in a different storage tub than I anticipated). I will find it this weekend and send it home with Graham on Tuesday.
Looks like you have been doing your homework and watching hgtv for lots of great ideas:) Nice job. I am so excited for you and your family's next addition!
The room looks great and you can't beat the price. You did a great job putting the boy together in a not so big space!

That's a lot of work! It looks great. I can't believe there's only a couple weeks left. Wahoo! Good luck.
Paint does wonders! The room looks great! I always get excited to start a painting project, and then half way through I get tired of it and just want it done! Way to go! The boys look like they like bunk beds!
Cute pictures. It's great to see what you have been up to. Your family is so cute. I am very impressed with the New Year's Eve--you are brave. :)
The room looks amazing and I'm so glad to see that Jonah and Graham are enjoying sharing a room. I love the bin ideas . . . may have to borrow that idea. I hope you get feeling better and I'm way, way excited for your little one to come. xoxo
