For Teacher Appreciation week I was supposed to decorate Mrs. Gonzalez door. For some reason (possibly my lack of scrapbooking skills) this was a little trickier then I had anticipated. After some pondering I came up with my wording, "Mrs. Gonzalez is "nacho" everyday teacher". I was feeling pretty good about this part and then had big plans to put Mrs. Gonzalez face on a picture of Nacho Libre. It was going to be good!

Then I realized that I didn't know how to make a really big Nacho Libre. I tried to find a poster but no luck. I also got thinking about how Nacho doesn't have a shirt on and he has on little red underwear/tight things. All of a sudden my Nacho idea didn't seem so great anymore. I called Anna in a little bit of a panic and she talked me through it and then Jason had some more good ideas (thank goodness). The day I went to hang it one thing after another happened and I ended up at the school later then I thought and I had Jonah with me. When Jason came to get Jonah I asked him if instead of taking Jonah he would just stay and help me. So he did and holy cow I was so thankful. Boys are so smart when it comes to hanging sombreros and cutting holes for door knobs. I was so thankful for him. Here is what it ended up looking like.
While we were hanging stuff Graham was playing in the classroom and taking the liberty of erasing his name off the board from the list of kids who had to miss recess the next day. I gotta keep my eye on that one.

LOL! I think that is very clever and cute! That would have been a little awkward putting a woman's face on the body of Jack Black. :) Actually, I would have laughed my butt off!
Kristin I LOVE it!! I turned out so great! I gotta admit I didn't think of the whole naked torso/red tighty undie thing when you were telling me your idea! Way to be on top of that one! LOL! It turned out SO cute!!
Nice job! Aren't husbands great!
Kristin,
I feel so bad this one got left out of my collage of doors - it turned out SOOO cute! You have been an amazing room mom! I did go back and snap a picture of it -just for the record! How will anyone fill your shoes for this one next year?!? You have an incredible sense of humor and knack for creativity!
Kristin I LOVE my door and have had tons of people tell me how great it is. I've also had some tell me that you got me confused with my husband- I'm not Hispanic! Too funny. Thanks for all you've done for me this year. Also, I promise I don't write kids names on the board. It is just that I'm only there in the afternoon and there is no recess for Graham that late so that was the only way I thought Mrs. Irwin would see it in the morning. SORRY! I don't intend to be a mean teacher. In fact Mrs. Irwin is the one who initiated the system of missing recess regularly- I don't like losing my recess either :)
You did an awesome job! It looks so cute!!
The door turned out way cute! I am impressed. Now I know who to call for creative inspiration.
Sweet door! You should of put Steven's face on the door eating his corn on the cob just for the heck of it. I love that show!
Looks great! And you say you're not a scrapbooker.....
Kris, it turned out AWESOME!! You and your love of Nacho cracks me up!! I think the pictures of the kiddos make such a huge difference and makes them special!! Way to go, one year down...five more to go!!
Ah, it turned out great! I love it. Did Graham get to go to recess the next day?
