Eating Habits

I've noticed some interesting things about my children's eating habits lately...

Jonah
  • Would be content with a big gulp and unlimited refills of juice or milk
  • ALWAYS sneaks bites of dinner while we are saying the blessing.
  • Makes a trail out of bites when eating an apple.  Never actually finishes an apple just makes it so that no one else wants to eat it.
  • Has the misconception that a "snack" must include sugar.
  • Swallows gum.  Like a whole pack of 15 sticks in about 5 min.
  • Asked for a bowl of hummus (We already finished off the impulse tub) for breakfast and then actually ate the whole thing.
Graham
  • Takes AT LEAST 20 min. to eat breakfast.  Always needs a refill on his cereal.
  • Eats nothing between 8am and 5pm.
  • Eats a normal dinner.
  • At 8pm after he has usually brushed his teeth he is starving and needs a Chuck-A-Rama sized snack that he eats annoyingly slow (for obvious reasons).
  • After forgetting to give him his quarter for milk a few days in a row I realized that the reason he hadn't mentioned it was because he hadn't been using it to buy milk.  He was using it to fund his ever growing pencil collection.
  • Always takes a bite of Jonah's treat before he hands it to him (just to be sure its safe).

Love it! Ellie always is very hungry after brushing her teeth as well. I guess that stalling tactic is commonly used. And of course they don't eat very much dinner so you feel like a meanie if you don't at least give them something to eat. Jonah likes hummus? I actually made some a little while ago and it turned out pretty good. Maybe I will have to bring some for our weekend party extravaganza next month.

Seriously funny. Kids sure have their individual habits when it comes to food. Thanks for the laugh.
