My Obsession

I LOVE girls camp.  There is something about not having to shower for 3 days, baking in the hot sun, humiliating yourself with cheers and skits, and bearing testimonies around smokey campfires that I LOVE!  I was released from Young Women the Sunday after camp last year and I wondered how I would cope without going to girls camp.  Well, the Lord in His tender mercies provided me an opportunity to go again this year and I LOVED IT!  I got to meet the neatest people, share an air mattress with Inez, feel Tiffany's joy as she didn't have to get up and pee at night (5mo. pregnant...and it's a boy), find use for some sweet wind up sushi I found at Wal-Mart (now owned by Pres. Lefler for his sushi song), and constantly embarrass myself in front of 120 12-18yr old girls.  It was AWESOME!  I have to admit I missed my old standbys that I have been to camp with for the last who knows how many years.  Yet, it was good for me to branch out and I felt so blessed to get to know some new fun friends.
Getting ready to take off.  On our way up Inez and I discovered that we have motion sickness in common.
Me doing the human knot with a bunch of little lambs.

Each camp got a star balloon and some starburst to welcome them to camp.  Nicole decided to take her star balloon and make it her new friend "Stuart".  Before she left they popped Stuart and buried him.  That was the best $2 we could have spent.
We got to eat Pizza Hut pizza on Bishopric night and to hang out with all our ward friends.  If I would have remembered that the bishopric was coming up to see the skits I probably wouldn't have done the following...
#1 Wore this dress
#2 Got this excited
#3 Made this face

Check out the disco ball in the background (bouncy ball in tin foil). Our skit was a spoof on Dancing with the Stars.
On Thurs. we rotated through activities and I was in charge of the bottle rocket.  You may have seen this same rocket launcher in another post.  I didn't realize I would be standing in the sun for 4 hrs. shooting this bad boy off.  I was  a little sunburned by the time we were through. Thank goodness Natalie came by to keep me entertained!

It looks like a SUPER lot of fun. I, too, love girls camp. I'm totally jealous, but glad that you got to go again. I love the dress, btw...I have no idea why you would regret putting that bad baby on. :)

O.K. I totally hated girls camp but these pictures actually make me want to go. Looks like you had fun! I'm so excited that Tiffany is having a boy. Mike called to tell us she was pregnant but they didn't know the sex. That's great!

It looks like you had a blast and kept everyone entertained. You are a girl after my own heart - I love girls camp. What are the chances that we would ever live close enough to each other to go together? Probably not too likely anytime soon but it is fun to think about.

Kristen,
It was so good to see you at Barnes and Noble. I'm glad that you found my long address. I know I'm kind of dumb. I am going to add you to my list as well, so I can keep up with you and your cute family.
